Romans 9:9, Genesis 21:5-6 (NKJV) 9 For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.” … 5 Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. 6 And Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.”
Isaac was the seed that was promised by God to Abraham. “Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.” God’s timing is truly remarkable. It was a greater display of God’s power and grace to have Isaac born when Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90. God intervene in the birth of Isaac, for God made a promise, and God kept His promise. In fact, God always keeps His promises. The birth of Isaac was a miraculous birth. Both Abraham and Sarah were dead to child bearing, so to speak, and yet out of the deadness of Sarah’s womb, Isaac was born. What a wonderful picture we are given; out of death God brings forth life. We need to die to our sins, that is to repent of our sins, in order to be born again in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Issac’s birth was a miraculous birth. It sets the stage for Jesus’ supernatural birth in fulfillment of the Scriptures. When God makes us a promise, we really have nothing to do in making God’s promise come to fruition. It is all about God. The fulfillment of God’s promises depends completely on His faithfulness.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
