1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NKJV) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
Pray then for everyone to include public officials. The church, the body of Christ, ought to be praying for our government. Members of each political party ought to be praying for one another. Why? Because if they do not govern in accordance with God’s laws, then the country is at risk of collapsing from within. This is what the Apostle Paul is saying to us. We need to pray for our country. And the way we do this, is by praying for those who have authority to make the laws of the land and to set policies that affect our lives. As Christians we ought to put aside our political views and pray for all public officials. And yes, even if you disagree with them politically. Pray that they will govern in accordance with God’s laws for the sake of our country. “That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
