Mark 13:24-27 (NKJV) 24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.
This is the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” “The Son of Man” is Jesus’ Messianic title. Jesus is the One who will fulfill Daniel’s prophecy in Daniel 7:13-14: “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.” When Jesus used the title “The Son of Man”, Jesus was proclaiming Himself to be the Messiah. For Jesus stepped down from heaven in all of His deity and clothed Himself in humanity. And He took upon Himself the sins of the world, and paid the penalty for it, so we may be reconciled to God. In Jesus’ first coming He died for us so we might live. In Jesus’ second coming Jesus will come as the glorious Conqueror and Judge. Jesus will put an end to His enemies. He will gather up the faithful remnant, and they will enjoy the benefits of His Millennium Kingdom.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
