Job 23:10-12 (NKJV) 10 But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. 12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.

Like Job we can be tested by God. When we are being tested by God, we know that it is for a purpose. We may not know what it is, and we may not understand why. But for certain, we know God is using it for a purpose in our lives. Many times, we associate trials and tribulations with tests of God. This may be, but this much is certain, “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). That is why we feel stronger in our faith when we endure and persevere through the trials and tribulations. It is true that trouble times strengthens our faith. When we resist temptation, we gain moral character. In our weakness, we can say as the Apostle Paul, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV). In the storms of life, we experience God’s strength and comfort. For God never promised us that there will never be trials and tribulations in our lives, rather God promises to bring us through it. And that, my friend, is good for me. Why? Because many of the truths of God’s Word must be learned by experience. When we go through rough times, and it seems all is lost, we ought to look to God for comfort, help and understanding. Especially when we cannot see any fault within ourselves that may have brought the problems upon us. Sadly, that is the case, many of us feel like Job when we are hit with problems. We think that God only uses trials and tribulations to discipline us. Job certainly felt this way. He did not understand that God was using Him as a prime example of someone with great faith. In either case, when we are lacking understanding, we should always go to God. For “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
