Ephesians 2:14-17 (NKJV) 14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are born again into the family of God. We are placed into a body of believers. We are brought into the body of Christ. And we stand on equal footing with other believers in the body of Christ, for we have been made one in Christ. In this passage of Ephesians, the comparison is made between the Jews and Gentiles. The Lord Jesus Christ has brought them together as one in His peace. And our Lord Jesus Christ is still bringing believers together as one in His peace, today. Jesus has broken down the wall that separated fallen man with God. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Jesus has brought us together in His righteousness, and He has reconciled us with God. We now have peace with God because Jesus died for our sins. By the blood of Jesus, we have peace with God. And we ought to have peace with one another. For we are one in Christ. We have been made one new man in Christ. Christ is our peace. And we should have peace with one another. For how can a body work as one if its own members are fighting one another. How can the church which Christ has built be successful in sharing the good news, the message of Salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ? Enmity must be put aside, it must end. Christ is our peace; He has reconciled us with God. And we must be at peace with one another. For we are one body, the body of Christ. And we are the “church” that Christ has built. And the church is the new man that is spoken of in this passage of Scripture. God has not leveled the playing ground, so to speak, so that we all have equal status among each other. Rather God has elevated us to a higher plane in Christ so that we have His righteousness. We are one in Christ. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. We all have been saved by grace alone in Christ alone. And we have made into a new creation, a new man, the body of Christ. Now we come boldly into the presence of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
