Matthew 28:1-8 (NKJV) Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

They were bringing sweet spices to anoint the body of Jesus, but when they got there, the tomb was empty. Christ is risen. An angel rolled back the stone so all could see that Jesus was not there. Christ is risen indeed. The guards ran away in fear, but the angel said to the women “Fear not.” And he said, “I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.” This is the divine announcement of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus had already left the tomb before the stone was rolled away. Because the glorified body of Jesus Christ is very different from the body with which He was born. Jesus was no longer limited by the physical. The stone was rolled away not to let Jesus out of the tomb, rather to let people into the tomb so that they could see that He was not there. For Christ is risen just as He said He would on the third day. The angel told the women “go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead.” For the message of the Resurrection is to be told by all who believes. Believers are to share the Good News, Christ is risen, He is alive. Our Redeemer lives. We ought to believe wholeheartedly that Christ died for our sins and was buried and on the third day Christ rose again. Then we ought to go quickly and tell others to come and see Jesus Christ is alive. We can see for ourselves through the countless witnesses who saw the empty tomb and the endless witnesses who saw the Resurrected Christ. We can know for certain that our Redeemer lives. And we ought to share this Good News to the lost. My friend, you and I are to go and we are to tell others of the Message of Salvation. Go quickly and tell others, my friends. Tell them this:

Behold the Author of our salvation
Behold the wonder of grace so free
Behold the blessing of true forgiveness at Calvary
Behold the answer for all the broken
Behold the mercy that makes a way
Behold the promise of perfect healing at Calvary
Come and see come and see what God has done
come and see come and see what love has won
in this place hearts and lives waking up
to the Light of the world
You’re the Light of the world
God it’s Your love
