Psalm 5:1-3 (NKJV) Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my meditation. 2 Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. 3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.

David wrote this Psalm as a morning prayer for divine guidance. In the morning David would lift his voice unto God in prayer. It is good to start the day in prayer, because it will give you comfort for the day. When you look about the world today, you’ll get a sinking feeling that evil is everywhere and iniquity is spreading like wildfire. The corruption and the greed for power is enough to make anyone sick at heart and hate evil even more. For God Himself hates sin. Sinfulness does not please God, nor will it please those who knows Him. In the morning pray that evil will not prevail over you. Pray for your enemies that they may repent of their sins. For a day of judgment is coming for those who practice lies and iniquities. Pray that God will guide you in righteousness, so that you will not stumble and fall before your enemies. Pray that you will glorify God in all that you do during the day. Pray that God will control your behavior and your deeds so that you will not discredit the name of God. Pray that your actions will exult God and love His name. Pray that God’s protection will bring joy to your heart. And pray that you will walk with Christ throughout the day by faith.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
