Proverbs 10:17 (NKJV) He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, But he who refuses correction goes astray.

Listening to godly instruction, that is to follow them, is beneficial. It helps us to avoid the bumps and pot holes on the road of life. It helps us in our journey of life. Rejecting godly advice can be damaging and may harm others as well. David’s son Absalom is a prime example of one who refused to listen to godly advice. He made a huge mistake in attempting to overthrow his father. When we act on a bad decision, and are blind to our error by the counsel of the wicked, then our actions can do us harm. It is much better to listen to the advice of the godly, in fact get more than one godly advice. The advice from godly people can tell us how to avoid costly mistakes, they can give us helpful tips, basically they can help us to be successful. No matter how experienced and smart we are, we can always use godly advice. God provides godly people in our lives for a purpose, and they can be a great help to us. God has also provided us His very spoken Word. When we read and study the Bible, when we know what God’s Word says, we can appeal to the Word of God at any time to help us in our decisions. There is wisdom in seeking the advice of godly people and God’s Word, rather then relying solely on our own knowledge and understanding without conscious reasoning. We can make the right decisions when we listen to godly people, seek God’s wisdom, and move forward in faith.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
