Acts 2:1 (NKJV) When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

When coming of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled, they were all together in one place. It was fifty days after the Feast of Firstfruits when the Day of Pentecost took place. The Feast of Firstfruits speaks of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as the Word of God tells us: “…Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming” (1 Corinthians 15:23 NKJV). Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. He is alive. Jesus became the firstfruits of the resurrection. “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22 NKJV). Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. And He is returning for His church, all who belongs to Him by faith. The Day of Pentecost is the fulfillment of the birth of the church, the day the church came into existence by the coming and filling of the Holy Spirit. The Day of Pentecost marked the fulfillment of the Feast of Pentecost, which Israel had been celebrating for generations. The coming of the Holy Spirit marked the beginning and origin of the church. The Holy Spirit calls people out of this world to form the body of Christ, which is the church. By the baptizing, filling, of the Holy Spirit, believers are identified with Christ as His body here on earth. “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:13 NKJV). This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is the means by which the Holy Spirit puts us into the body of Christ, the church. We as Spirit filled believers are to function in the body of Christ as one, using the gift given to us to get the Word out, the message of salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
