Psalm 27:1, 5 (NKJV) 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
This is a personal psalm, “The Lord is my light and my salvation.” God is Holy and He cares for us. We have a personal relationship with God. All of God’s children can say “God is the One who directs and guides me by the light of His Word.” A child of God can say, “God’s Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (see Psalm 119:105). And God’s children can say, “Christ is my Salvation.” Because God demonstrated His love for us with the substitutional sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. God’s love for us provided a Salvation for us. God gave us His Son Jesus Christ. But be certain of this, we are not saved by God’s love. We are saved by grace alone in Christ alone. For you see, our forgiveness came at a cost. The penalty for our sins was paid for in full. Jesus paid it all. And all to Him we owe. As John 3:16 says, God so loved the world that He provided a Salvation for sinners. We have to come to God through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV). “There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NKJV). In order to be saved, you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. God’s children can say, “the Lord is the strength of my life.” Because God gives them life through the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ. And through Christ we are empowered to live a Christian life. For these reasons, a child of God can say, “of whom shall I be afraid?” My friends, God is the stronghold of our lives, He is our refuge in the storms of life. With God protecting us, we need not be afraid. Our hearts can rest on the protection which God has promised to all those who are His children through His Son Jesus Christ.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
