Job 42:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. 13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.
As soon as Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored Job’s losses. “Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10b NKJV). Twice as many sheep. Twice as many camels. Twice as many oxen. Twice as many female donkeys. All of the animals were doubled. But verse 13 says, “He also had seven sons and three daughters.” And you may say, “children were not doubled.” But the reality is this, although Job’s previous children died, he did not lose them. They were still his children, and he is with them today. My friend, death does not take away our loved ones from us. We will be with them one day when we get to heaven. So, Job lived a full life, and he died an old man. He gave each of his children an inheritance. And in all his days, Job never cursed God. Oh, how lovely is God’s grace. It can restore us and bring us into a relationship with God that is twice as better than before. If we would only persevere by faith, and trust in God.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
