Psalm 68:18-23 (NKJV) 18 You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, Even from the rebellious, That the Lord God might dwell there. 19 Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah 20 Our God is the God of salvation; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death. 21 But God will wound the head of His enemies, The hairy scalp of the one who still goes on in his trespasses. 22 The Lord said, “I will bring back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea, 23 That your foot may crush them in blood, And the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies.”

When the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, He took with Him to heaven all those saints who were in paradise that is Abraham’s bosom. The Lord paid the redemptive price for them when He died on the cross at Calvary. Their spirits were made perfect by His shed blood on the cross. And they were taken into the presence of God when Jesus ascended to heaven. Secondly, when Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave gifts to His disciples, and He still does today, so that He carries on His work through those who belongs to Him by faith. When Jesus ascended to heaven He triumphed gloriously over His enemies. And the gifts He received among men as rewards for His redemption power, He gave back to them for the establishment and growth of His church. Remembering what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us should bring praises from our hearts to God for His grace, mercy and love. Jesus is both Deliverer and Destroyer. He delivers us from our captivity in sin. And He destroys the sting of sin. Jesus is Salvation to us, and He has the power to deliver us from death. Our Lord Jesus Christ will be victorious over the Antichrist. Jesus will crush His foes. Jesus will hunt them down. They will not be able to escape from God’s wrath. God will gather His people, the nation of Israel, from all corners of the earth and even from the depths of the sea. God will restore them unto Himself. And they will rejoice in His victory.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
