1 John 4:17-21 (NKJV). 17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us. 20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

Here we have the consummation of love and obedience by faith. Our love is complete in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Christ’s love is perfect. It is without fault. It is without hidden agendas. It never runs out. It never stops. It is not dependent on what we do. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 NKJV). “That we may have boldness in the day of judgment.” Because the Lord Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins on the Cross at Calvary. By faith we believe in Jesus Christ, God the Son, and we are born again by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. For “…as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12 NKJV). Christ was raised from the dead and He has life. And we have life too. Because, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV). By faith we are in Christ and Christ is in us. And by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit we become more like Christ who dwells within us. We are accepted by God the Father because of what Christ did for us. Therefore, as children of God, we do not need to fear any judgment which is coming. The penalty for our sins was all settled when Christ died for us. We can be certain of our salvation because it is not based on what we do, but what Christ did for us. God’s perfect love for us was demonstrated on the Cross at Calvary. We are made perfect in God’s love. If you are fearful, my friend, then you cannot enjoy God’s love. The joy of Christ stems from God’s love, and God’s love casts out all fear of any judgments which are to come. If you are fearful, then trust in Christ wholeheartedly, don’t rely on your own works for your salvation. My friend, Jesus paid it all on the Cross at Calvary. Trust in Him, completely. For “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1 NKJV). My friend, there is no greater love than God’s love for us. And we do not have to earn God’s love. Many people say, “God can’t possibly love me, I’ve done too many horrible things.” My friend, we don’t have to prove that we are worthy of God’s love. God loved us when we were unlovely. God is worth loving. God is worthy. Christ, the Perfect Lamb of God, is worthy of all our love, all of our devotion, and all of our service. And here is the test for our love for God: do we love our brothers and sisters in Christ? “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11 NKJV). My friend, Apostle John said it bluntly, if we do not love other believers, then we do not love God either. Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35 NKJV). “And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also” (1 John 4:21 NKJV). My friend, this is a commandment, we are to love one another. And Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
