Matthew 27:31-32 (NKJV) 31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified. 32 Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was beaten, mocked, and humiliated. Jesus suffered beyond belief. Even before He was led away to be crucified. Jesus was whipped and beaten to a pulp. What kept Him moving towards Calvary? Somewhere along the route, Jesus fell. He was too weak to carry His cross. So, the soldiers signaled Simon from Cyrene out from the crowd to carry the cross. The question is my friend, what would you have done in Simon’s situation? Would you have considered it a wonderful privilege to bear the cross of Jesus? Would you have done it willingly and joyfully? We can’t bear Jesus’ cross today. But what do you do when you are confronted about your faith? What do you do when people ask you if you are a Christian? What do you say when people ask you if you believe in Jesus Christ? Will you pick up the cross and say, “I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ!”

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
