Romans 5:1 (NKJV) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

At the moment that we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation we have peace with God. God has reconciled us to Himself with the shed blood of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. The Bible mentions many types of peace. Frist, some people believe that if you protest loudly and violently enough that you can bring about peace through fear, manipulation and psychological brain washing. These people got it all wrong, because as long as there is sin in the hearts of men, there will never be peace. However, when the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, returns He will bring real peace to this world. Second, some people think that they can achieve an inner peace by connecting with nature. That they can have a tranquility through epistemology, ontology and metaphysics. But the only way to receive inner peace is to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and resting in Him, and doing His will. However, the Apostle Paul is not referring to neither world peace or inner peace. Third, the Bible talks about a peace that passes all understanding. But Paul is not referring to this kind of peace as well. Paul is talking about “peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Paul is talking about the first benefit of salvation which is the peace that comes to the soul of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. They know that God has forgiven their sins. They know that God is for them. They know they have a salvation that is permanent and eternal, because it is entirely based on what Christ has done for us on the cross at Calvary. This is the peace that comes when God reconciles you unto Himself through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is wonderful peace, the rest of redemption. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NKJV). My friend, you don’t need tears to soften the heart of God. You don’t have to do anything. Because the Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross at Calvary, God is reconciled. And He now extends His grace to all who will believe in His Son Jesus Christ. When you accept God’s salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, then you will experience peace that your sins have been forgiven. This is the first benefit of salvation.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
