Psalm 25:4-5 (NKJV) 4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
In life there are two paths we can follow. Either we can go God’s way or we can go our own way. And God allows us to choose which path we will go. You and I walk in the path of our own choosing. But we ought to think about which path we choose, because “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV). There are two warnings here in this Proverb. The first is a warning against false doctrine to include the cults and the idea of salvation by good works. These appeal to the old nature of man. They appeal to the flesh. They tell you that if you are good to others and good to yourself, and follow their rules, then you are going to make it. But the truth of the matter is that it leads to eternal separation from God. The second warning is against going the way which seems right according to your own way. This is the path of self-will that ignores and rejects God’s guidance or godly counsel. This path will end in disaster and spiritual death. My friend, it is important for you to choose the right way. The Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV). My friend, in all our decisions in life we can call out to God and ask Him to show us the way we should go, because He loves us. We can call on God to show us the way and to teach us the way. So that we can know His ways, to walk in His path, and to grow in His truth. Our motivation for desiring to walk with God is our love for Him. He is the God of our salvation, the One in whom all our expectations are fulfilled.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
