Daniel 3:24-27 (NKJV) 24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” 25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” 26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire. 27 And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them

Nebuchadnezzar expected these men to burn to death immediately. So, he was amazed to see them alive and walking about in the fire. And he was even more astonished to see a fourth Man in the fire whom he described as being in the form “like the Son of God.” But actually, Nebuchadnezzar most likely said “like a son of gods.” Because he had no knowledge of the living and true God, although he knew Daniel worshiped Him. However, the Bible translation has it correct, the fourth Man was God the Son, the preincarnate Christ. The preservation of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego was miraculous. Here in the Book of Daniel, is captured the actual events of that day as it was witnessed by Nebuchadnezzar himself. Why is this important? Because there are some who do not believe the Bible contains actual eye-witness accounts. They try to explain away these eye-witness testimonies of the many miracles recorded for us in the Bible, and especially those performed by the Lord Jesus Christ, by saying it is a metaphor; it is a symbolic description of something spiritual. This, my friends, is positively deceptive. To take the truth of God’s Word of actual miracles and to explain away its real meaning. Be careful, my friends, of wolfs in sheep’s clothing, here are many of them in the churches today. They talk with a fork-tongue. This type of double-talk is deceptive and hypocritical. That is why it is important to test everything you hear against the truth of God’s Word. As the Lord Jesus Christ was with these three faithful men in the fiery furnace, Christ will be with the faithful remnant of Israel during the Great Tribulation. And Christ is with us as well, as we live in a world full of chaos, unrest, and uncertainty.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
