1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NKJV) 55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Those who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation can look beyond death. We can view death as a doorway that opens up into heaven where we will spend eternity with our Savior. And yet, death is understandably frightening or at least worrisome, even for believers. Because from the vantage point of this world it seems that death wins. We are afraid of the unknown, although we know in our hearts that heaven is real. And we are sad to leave behind the people we love. However, our Lord Jesus Christ has been down that path for us. He has paid the penalty for our sins, and He has freed us from the Law. Jesus has overcome sin and death. And He tells us, “I have paid it all for you. I am your Shepherd. I led you through life, and I will lead you into eternity and bring you into the presence of My Father.” So, it is alright to be afraid like a little child when our time comes. But we can simply put our hand in His nail-pierced hand. And Jesus will lead us home to heaven.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
