Romans 10:13-15 (NKJV) 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
In verse 13, the Apostle Paul quotes from Joel 2:32 (NKJV) which says, “And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.” My friends, salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone. For both Jew and Gentile, the Lord Jesus Christ is salvation. In this world of many false teachings, there must be messengers of the gospel of Jesus Christ who have credentials from God. God is the author of salvation, and He is the one who gives the authority to believers to share the message of salvation. Satan has his army of false preachers, teachers and prophets. And God has His messengers of Truth who He sends out in order for people to hear the Good News that they might believe on the name of Jesus and call upon Him for salvation. “For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”” The Incarnation of Christ, His death and resurrection is the Good News. And “How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”” (Isaiah 52:7 NKJV). The Law of Moses is surely not glad tidings of good news. It was never designed by God to bring us salvation. Rather it is the standard that shows us how short we have fallen from the righteousness of God and how desperately we need a Savior. My friends, as members of the body of Christ, we all have a part in getting God’s Word out to needy people. And with the miracle of radio broadcast, cable television, and the internet we can scale mountains, go over the plains, cross over oceans, and go to all four corners of the earth with the gospel of Christ, the message of salvation. It is wonderful to do our part to get out the Word of God. My friends, it is wonderful to have feet that God calls beautiful.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
