2 Timothy 2:19 (NKJV) Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
We are sealed with the Holy Spirit, as the Apostle Paul tells us, “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee” (2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NKJV). The Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts is a mark of authentication and ownership. Our salvation is guaranteed by what the Lord Jesus Christ did for us on the cross at Calvary. And when we believed in Jesus, we were born again by the power of the Holy Spirit into the family of God. We are God’s children. We belong to Him. And the Holy Spirit producing in us the fruit of the Spirit identifies us as true followers of Christ. When we abide in Christ, He abides in us, and He enables us to live for Him. Just as Paul has said, “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21 NKJV). How do we demonstrate that we are a true child of God? By departing from iniquity. We are to separate ourselves from evil. And we are to separate ourselves unto Christ. “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”” (1 Peter 2:21-22 NKJV). My friends, the world makes sin very attractive and appealing. But we are not to fall for the sins that the world has to offer. Instead, our lives ought to display the love and compassion of Christ. Our lives ought to be drawing people to Christ. My friends, if you call on the name of Jesus, be sure you are not living in sin. For our lives are being examined closely by those who do not know Christ as their Savior. It is so important for the sake of the lost, that our lives be a living translation of God’s Word. So, that people can come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
