Colossians 2:6-10 (NKJV) 6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

My friend what saves you? Is it the Law of Moses? Must you keep all of the Law in order to be saved? Well my friend see what the very spoken Word of God says, “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:3-4 NKJV).  My friend it is impossible for the Law to produce righteousness in any of us because of the sin in us. The Law could not forgive sin, rather it points out our sins. My friend, because of our fleshly desires we have already sin. And because of the sin nature we inherit from Adam, we are already born with sin, the sin of disobedience. But God is able to forgive our sins because He sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus’ redemptive power on the cross at Calvary is what saves us. Because of Jesus’ shed blood on the cross, God can forgive our sins and extend His grace to all who will believe in His Son Jesus Christ. My friend, God has reconciled the world, you and I, unto Himself through the substitutional sacrifice of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. And now, the Holy Spirit enables us to live the Christian life here in this sinful world. The Holy Spirit produces in us a life of obedience which the Law required of us but could not produce in us. But my friend, while the Holy Spirit produces in us the power to live the Christian life, we have to make the decision to obey God. Now that we have received Christ as our Savior, we have to make the decision to walk with Christ in our homes, in our work place, in the classroom, on the street, and anywhere we go. We have to make the decision to be joined to God in our daily walk. We have to make the decision to be rooted in the living Word of God and draw our life from the Word of God. We have to make the decision to be built up on the strong foundation of our Lord Jesus Christ with our faith resting firmly upon Him. We have to make the decision to lay hold of Christ by faith and walk with Him daily. For my friend, in this world there are many dangers. “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8 NKJV). The world does not seek truth because they do not seek Christ. For Christ is Truth, and the world does not seek Him. Neither does man made traditions and rituals which focuses on man’s ability to be righteous rather than the Word of God. The basis for our righteousness is Christ, for in Christ “dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:9-10 NKJV). My friend, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are ready for the journey of life. And whatever you need for the journey you will find it in Christ. My friend, Christ is the answer to all your questions of life. Turn to Christ.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
