Daniel 6:26-27 (NKJV) 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

We know this event in Daniel’s life very well. It is taught in many children’s Bible story books and short films. I think even Veggie Tales did a cartoon version called “Daniel and the Lions Den.” When Daniel was placed into the lions den and the entrance was sealed, King Darius could not sleep the entire night, but Daniel did. Darius could not fall asleep because he was worried about Daniel. In the morning Darius went to the entrance of the lions den and called out to Daniel. But he did not expect Daniel to answer. However, Daniel did. Daniel greeted the king with a respectful “good morning”, if you will. Daniel said, “O king live forever.” Daniel was well rested after a good night sleep. But Darius did not sleep a wink. All night long Darius’ anxiety kept him up. But Daniel rested peacefully in the protective arms of the Lord. Just as the Lord Jesus Christ protected Daniel’s friends in the fiery furnace with His presence. Jesus was also with Daniel throughout the night. My friends, there is safety and comfort in the presence of the Lord. As Daniel was saved by faith, so are we my friends. And those who plot evil against us will be judged in God’s time. Stand firm in your faith during trials and tribulations so that those who are close to you might believe in the One and True Living God. My friends, like Darius and Nebuchadnezzar, people around you can be brought to God through your faith.in God who works miracles in your life. Be like Daniel, my friends, stand firm in your faith and maintain it to the day when Christ returns.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
