Psalm 103:1-2 (NKJV) Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

Three times we are told to bless the Lord in the first two verses of Psalm 103. It reveals something to our hearts. And it is that the LORD is good and He is worthy to be praised. From the deepest regions of our heart we are to praise and glorify the LORD. But do we really worship the LORD in the way that we should? My friends, there is a real danger today of heartlessly going to church, going through the rituals, and reciting religious clichés. This is what we are warned about in Isaiah 29:13 (NKJV): “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.” My friends, there is a danger in simply going through the motions. There is danger when your heart is not submitted to God’s Word and His commands. There is danger in just following the principles of men. My friends, is your personal worship alive? Is your praise pure and from the depths of your heart? That is what we should all long for. God’s Word needs to be written in the depths of our hearts, so that it will make a change in our lives. And it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that our lives are changed. We have to submit to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit of God. For it is only by the Holy Spirit that we can praise and glorify the LORD in spirit and in truth. And let us not for get “all His benefits.” Remember how God has been so good to us. Remember that God is good all the time. And all the time, God is good.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
