Ephesians 4:1-3 (NKJV) I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

In view of all that God has done for us, in light of what He has done for us that we might live under the economy of grace. We ought to “walk worthy of the calling with which” we are called. We are witnesses for Christ because we are in Christ. Therefore, in the love and the mercies of God, we are to walk worthy of this calling. We are to live our lives on a plane commensurate with our position in Christ. We as believers are to “stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27 NKJV). We are to work together in the body of Christ, “fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10 NKJV). It is so important to walk worthy of the gospel. Because people are evaluating your life. They want to know if you are authentic. They want to know if the God you believe in, is real to you. Has the Lord Jesus Christ changed your life? This is the only way that people will see Christ. It is your faith, your relationship, with Christ that will bring people to Christ. How much time do you spend with Christ? How much time do you spend in the Word of God? People know how much time you spend with Christ by the way you live your life. They know by watching your life. Practice what you preach, or as Paul puts it, “walk in lowliness of mind.” This is the greatest of all Christian virtues. We ought to learn this from our Lord Jesus Christ who is meek and lowly in heart. We ought to be willing to stand up and do the will of God regardless of the personal cost. We need to bow before God and do His will. That is what is meant by meek and lowly in heart. Another thing we need to have is patience which is to be longsuffering. This is another Christian virtue that people are looking for in an authentic Christian. It goes along with forgiveness. It is the act of not holding grudges against someone who has done wrong against you. Forgiveness is showing love, mercy and grace to those who have done evil against you. If we refuse to forgive, then we are demonstrating resentment, bitterness, and anger. None of these qualities will bring people to Christ. Rather, we are to be “bearing with one another in love.” Forgiveness, then is another essential virtue of an authentic Christian. Then finally, we are to endeavor “to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” As believers we are baptized into the body of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. And we should realize that we are one in Christ. And, therefore, we are to be at peace with one another. My friend, these are the virtues that people are looking for in your life. Because they want to know is God real in your life. And it is what brings people to Christ.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
