Psalm 140:8-10 (NKJV) 8 Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; Do not further his wicked scheme, Lest they be exalted. Selah 9 “As for the head of those who surround me, Let the evil of their lips cover them; 10 Let burning coals fall upon them; Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

This is a prayer for the defeat of the Antichrist. It is not a prayer to be used against our enemies, that is people we do not like. Rather we should adhere to the guidance given to us in Romans 12:19-21 (NKJV) which says, “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” In other words, don’t become bitter. Don’t let enmity and revenge consume you. These things will separate you from a walk of faith in Christ. Be still and know that God will take care of things. God will deal with those who attempt to thwart and hinder God’s work. Vengeance is not ours; it belongs to God. Therefore, turn your case over to the LORD. Then do something good for those who injure you. Sounds totally opposite of what our old nature would do, right? But God’s ways are much higher than our ways, and He puts us in an unusual place.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
