Lamentations 3:21-24 (NKJV) 21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

The prophet Jeremiah is sitting on a pile of rubble looking around at the ruins of Jerusalem. He had given the people God’s warning of His coming judgment. And the people would not repent. Therefore, God’s judgment came upon Jerusalem. And all Jeremiah could do now is weep. But in his sorrow, he has hope because, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” In spite of God’s severe judgment on the people of Jerusalem, Jeremiah could see the hand of God’s mercy, for they would have been utterly consumed, if it was not for the mercy of God. If God would have given them what they truly deserve, then they would have been completely destroyed. Thank God that He is merciful, even to us today. God had promised Abraham that He would make a nation come from him, and Israel was the nation. God had promised Moses that He would put His people into the promised land. And this was the land. God had promised Joshua that He would establish His people. And they are God’s people. God had promised David that there would come One in his line to reign forever. And David’s family was not destroyed. These are the reasons why God did not utterly destroy His people for their sins. God is merciful, He has given Israel more time to repent, as too us as well. As we see throughout history, there has always been a faithful remnant of Israel that has always survived. And ultimately, they will become a great nation again. Now, what about the United States of America. Will God’s judgment be poured out on America? I look around today, and I see many people including Christians going about their business and falling farther away from God. And they think that God will not judge them. But the Word of God is clear, all nations will come against Israel. And God will judge these nations, including America. That is why, I hope and pray that God will right the wrong that was done in this election. For the only reason America is blessed, is because we are a friend to Israel.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
