Genesis 2:19-20 (NKJV) 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.

Adam had to be pretty smart to name all the animals and birds. In the process of naming the animals and birds, Adam would have noticed that each of them had a mate that was of its own kind, and he had not. Isn’t this so true? God makes us aware of some truth by revealing it to us in a practical way in which we can come to the conclusion that God wants us to know. In this case, God was making Adam aware of the fact that he too needed a helper who would be comparable to him, his counterpart, the other half of him. Or as the saying goes, his better half. This is very important to see, God’s intention for marriage is for a man and a woman to join in a physical and spiritual relationship. They are to help each other, and they are to complete each other.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
