Zechariah 9:9 (NKJV) “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.

The prophet Zechariah is making an announcement of the coming King. He says, the Christ is coming someday to bring peace to the world. He is coming to deliver His people from sin. The Lord Jesus Christ’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem was the fulfillment of Zechariah’s prophecy. See Matthew 21:1-5. The Lord Jesus Christ came riding on a donkey into Jerusalem to bring peace to His people. A peace, or reconciliation, between them and God. Jesus came the first time to die for the payment of our sins. He came to redeem us. But when He comes again, He will come to judge those who rebel against God, and He will reign over all the earth. Jesus will put down all unrighteousness. And He will set up His Kingdom here on earth. Jesus came the first time to suffer and die for our redemption. And He will come again in glory to reign upon this earth. And when the Lord Jesus Christ enters into His Kingdom riding on a white stallion with crowds of faithful believers shouting praises for their king, that will be a Triumphal Entry. Jesus’ first Triumphal Entry cannot compare to His coming Triumphal Entry. But the first was designed to make the people decide, is He their King or not. We have that same choice today. We need to decide whether to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, or not. Is Jesus the King of our lives? Is Jesus reigning in our hearts? Is Jesus our Lord and Savior? We need to decide. And we need to decide now. For just as sure as Jesus came the first time to redeem us, He is coming again to reign.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
