Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

As Christians, we are to train up our children with the Word of God. God has a way He wants our children to go. And we as Christian parents ought to find out that way. Does this mean that we as Christian parents should chose the careers for our children? And being so, we ought to groom them for that career. No, this is not what this Scripture is saying. The proverb is for our children’s spiritual wellbeing. We need to teach them about God; His love, His grace, His mercies, what He did for us. We need to teach them what is right in accordance with God’s Word. We need to teach them how to grow in their relationship with Christ. We need to teach them the things of God. And we need to know what they are. When our children are young, we need to teach them to be God fearing by subduing self-will, communicating with God in prayer, repenting of their sin, doing all things as on to the Lord, and holdfast onto the promises of God. If we bring up our children in God’s way, then when they are older they will not depart from it.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
