John 3:4-6 (NKJV) 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ said to Nicodemus, “you must be born again.” Now, Nicodemus the Pharisee in all his religious knowledge and training could only think about the physical. Jesus was talking about a spiritual birth from above, but Nicodemus the religious leader could only think about the physical. Why? Because Nicodemus had no spiritual compacity to comprehend it. Even today, it is the Holy Spirit who gives us understanding of God’s Word. We need the filling of the Spirit to understand God’s Word. And we need to be born again to be filled with the Spirit. And we are born again, made new, when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are made a new creation in Christ Jesus by faith. We are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the family of God, the body of believers when we trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. And each day we are renewed, refreshed, revitalized by the cleansing power of the Word of God. There is a sanctifying power in the Word of God. And the Holy Spirit is the One to cleanse us with the Word of God. And He is the One who makes the Word of God real in our hearts. In order to enter into the Kingdom of God, we must be born again. We can’t get to heaven by improving on our old nature. We need a new nature; we need to be born again. We need Jesus.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
