Song of Solomon 2:10-13 (NKJV) 10 My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away. 11 For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. 12 The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!

Here we have a foretelling of the Lord Jesus Christ’s second coming. Jesus gave Himself as a substitutional sacrifice for the payment of our sins in His first coming. In His second coming, Jesus will take all who belong to Him by faith out of this world. But until then, Jesus is purifying us. He is sanctifying us and cleansing us with the washing of water by the Word of God. So that on the glorious day of His return, He will be able to present to Himself a glorious church. A church whom He loves so dearly that He gave His life for us. That is why His calling at His second coming will be like bridegroom calling to His bride, “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away.” This world is growing colder and colder towards Christians. Lawless restrictions are being placed on churches today. And many believers are attacked for their faith. But nevertheless, Jesus said we who trust in Him will have tribulation. It is one of the marks that identify us as belonging to Christ. And it is also a mark that identifies us as God’s children. But when Jesus returns, all the trouble will be over. There will be no more tears. Broken hearts will be healed. Every sorrow will disappear. For we will be in our Savior’s presence. And Jesus will say to us, “For lo, the winter is past. The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of singing has come.” My friends, all our trouble and sorrow, and our pain and suffering will end when we are in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will sing a new song to Him, for He has done wondrous things. We will enter into His Kingdom with song, because the judgment will be over. And because our salvation is secured by what Jesus did for us on the cross on Calvary. Jesus has reconciled us to God by the blood of His cross. And one day we will hear Him say “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away.”

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
