Job 22:21 (NKJV) “Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you.

This is the gist of most alter calls, but here it is given as an invitation to Job. Certainly, Job already believes in God. This is a common mistake we make when we try to help our brothers and sisters in Christ who are going through some problems in life. It is not proper to say to them, “Have you truly given your life to Christ?” It would be an almost meaningless question. An invitation to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is for the unsaved. As believers we are to expect trials and tribulations to come our way. And it can hurt emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. But we ought to remember that all trials and tribulations that God allows in our lives have a divine purpose. We may not understand what it is while we are suffering, but in the end, we know that God is using it for our good. God is using it to make us more like Christ, or God is using it to open our eyes to the sin in our life. In either case, there is a divine purpose for it. And we ought to take heart in knowing that we already have the victory in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But remember, when the Word of God says, “Thereby good shall come to you,” it means what God determines to be good for us. And sometimes that means being discipline.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
