Acts 4:32-37 (NKJV) 32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. 34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. 36 And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
At the start of the church there was great unity and sharing, but it did not last very long. And the results can be seen in the church today. Carnality, liberalism, and world views have made its way into the church. It is sad to see. However, when hearts of believers are on fire with love for the Lord Jesus Christ, then their hearts are also kindled with love for one another. It is impossible to say, “I love God with all my heart” and yet you hold a grudge against your brother or sister in Christ. And even worst if you hate your brother or sister in Christ, it is totally impossible for you to say, “I love God.” You cannot love God without loving your brothers and sisters in Christ. For the heart of the gospel is forgiveness through the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And see, just as it was Christ who bore the pain and suffering, and death to pay the penalty for our sins that we may be forgiven and reconciled with God. Just as God was the One who reconciled us unto Himself. We are to be the one who reconcile unto ourselves those who wrong us. In this way we truly demonstrate that we love God. Christian charity, the love of Christ shinning bright in our lives, shows that we truly love Jesus and the Father who sent Him. My friends, we need to come into a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
