Psalm 119:145-153 (NKJV) 145 I cry out with my whole heart; Hear me, O Lord! I will keep Your statutes. 146 I cry out to You; Save me, and I will keep Your testimonies. 147 I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word. 148 My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word. 149 Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; O Lord, revive me according to Your justice. 150 They draw near who follow after wickedness; They are far from Your law. 151 You are near, O Lord, And all Your commandments are truth. 152 Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever.

When we are saved by the shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are born again by the baptismal of the Holy Spirit. We are made a new creation in Christ. We are given a new nature in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And God wants to put our new nature on a new diet, a diet of the Word of God. Our old nature feeds on worldly things, but our new nature is nourished by the Word of God. Even when we can’t sleep at night God can utilize these sleepless hours for meditation on His Word, and that is when God gives us a midnight snack, if you will, a little bit of spiritual nourishment in the early morning of the night. At any time, even in the wee hours of the morning, we have instant access to God through prayer. Even in the darkness of the morning, we can plead for God’s lovingkindness and justice to preserve our lives from our enemies who have rejected God’s laws and will seemingly stop at nothing to harm us. But God is near, God is with us. And “No foe can harm us, no fear alarms us, on the victory side.” For God’s Word is true, and God will never forsake His own. In the sleepless hours of the night God’s Word comforts us. “Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail; by the living Word of God, we shall prevail; standing on the promises of God.”

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
