Psalm 104:19-24 (NKJV) 19 He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down. 20 You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about. 21 The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God. 22 When the sun rises, they gather together And lie down in their dens. 23 Man goes out to his work And to his labor until the evening. 24 O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions.

This psalm is titled, “Praise to the Sovereign Lord for His Creation and Providence”. God created the heavens and the earth. How did God do it? God simply spoke everything into existence. Creation displays God’s personality, power and absolute control. God is a God of order; life moves along in a cycle. The moon marks the months and the seasons. The sun knows when to rise and when to set. The beasts of the fields know when to hunt and when to sleep. Man goes to work in the daylight for productive labor. Life moves along in a cycle with a purpose. On the first day of Creation, God said “Let there be light”, meaning let light exist. Light illuminates, it makes things visible. And in the case of spiritual things, divine enlightenment illuminates our hearts with the Truth of God’s Word. “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV). The physical light that God commanded to exist to make things visible, is a wonderful picture of how God illuminates our hearts with the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God and the True Light. For Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12 NKJV).  My friends, we are to follow Jesus our Lord and Savior whenever and wherever He leads, looking to Him as the Light of the World who reveals God to us.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
