Psalm 34:1-3 (NKJV) I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.
In times of trouble, we often feel discouraged and defeated. And so, did David. David was running away from King Saul for a very long time. And it looked like Saul would never stop until he was dead. David lost heart and was nearing the point of giving up. He was discouraged to say the least. David thought that one day Saul will surly kill him. Yet in his despair, David said, “I will bless the Lord at all times.” My friends, we find it easy to praise the Lord and follow Him on a sunshiny day, but it is not so easy on days when it is stormy. When we are faced with adversity, praising the Lord and following Him become difficult. Because we often face our problems on our own. But when we turn over our problems to the Lord, our troubles seem to fade away. This is why David could say, “His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Having a joyful heart in times of troubles, often is a great testimony. When people know what you are going through, and they see you walking around smiling and praising the Lord. They will probably want to know your secret. They will want to know about Christ in whom you trust. So, in times of trouble, my friends, let your praise magnify the Lord and exalt His name. Call on others to praise the Lord with you. And get the Word out; He is the God who saves.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
