John 8:12 (NKJV) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Jehovah is the “… I AM THAT I AM …” (Exodus 3:14 KJV). We know that God is self-existing. God has all wisdom and all power. And God sent His Son Jesus Christ to this world to redeem mankind, and to reveal more of God to man. In the New Testament, Jesus greatly expands our understanding of God. Jesus gives us a revelation of God when He tells us He is Life, He is Water, He is Bread, and here in John 8:12 He tells us He is Light. With these common things, Jesus tells us that God meets our every need: physical, emotional, and spiritual. And with ordinary things like a door (John 10:9), a shepherd (John 10:11), and a grape vine (John 15:5) Jesus explains the extraordinary. And with the here-and-now Jesus tells us of the hereafter (John 11:25 and John 14:6). When Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world.” He was saying that He exposes our sin, and that He is God, God the Son, the Second Person of the Triune Godhead, Elohim. God is three in One, a Trinity, just as Jesus said: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19 NKJV). Jesus is absolute in His holiness and in His justice. Jesus is the “resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). And everyone can come into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. The problem with the world today is that we are moving away from the Light like rats and roaches that run quickly into the darkness when the light is turned on. It is sad to say, that we are living in a time of apostasy. We truly need a revival in the hearts of believers today. We need to get back to the Light which is Christ, and let Christ lead our lives.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
