Acts 2:22-24 (NKJV) 22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ performed certain miracles, wonders and signs for different purposes. Jesus did things that were meant to be signs. Jesus performed miracles that were meant to get the attention of those who were watching. And Jesus performed wonders for another purpose. Jesus used miracles, wonders and signs to get His message across to His hearers. The crucifixion of Christ accomplished God’s plan of Salvation. But the religious leaders were still responsible for their actions. However, when you consider why Jesus died on the Cross, then you realize that we are responsible for Jesus’ death. Because Jesus died for the payment of our sins. Jesus died for my sins and for your sins. Jesus said, “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father” (John 10:17-18 NKJV). Jesus willingly laid down His life that we may have life. And God the Father was well pleased with His Son’s substitutional sacrifice that He raised Him from the dead on the third day “having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.” My friends, Jesus is alive and He is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. He is risen. He is alive.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
