Psalm 55:6-8 (NKJV) 6 So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. 7 Indeed, I would wander far off, And remain in the wilderness. Selah 8 I would hasten my escape From the windy storm and tempest.”
David was advised to head to the mountains, so to speak, to take refuge. But he did not want to do it at the time. And now all seems lost. Even his trusted advisor, Ahithophel has betrayed him. Just as Judas Iscariot betrayed Christ. And just as how in the Great Tribulation the Antichrist will betray the nation of Israel. I am sure that many of us can relate to how David must have felt. When someone whom we have placed our trust in betrays us, it hurts. Now, David wants to fly away from all his troubles. David would rather be in some quite spot in the wilderness. If he could, David would waste no time in escaping from all of the trouble that was surrounding him. But David cannot escape. And all he could do was call on the Lord for deliverance. Sounds like a great idea. This is what we should do in all cases. We ought to turn over our troubles, our worries, our problems, turn over everything to the Lord and call on Him for deliverance.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
