Proverbs 11:24-25 (NKJV) 24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. 25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
This is a paradox. The more you cast away, the more you have. The more you give to the poor, the more is given you. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said, “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6 NKJV). The Apostle Paul reminded us about this principle, he said, “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35 NKJV). However, today, it is quoted a lot but practiced very little. How do you feel when you give? Do you sow sparingly? Do you give in that way? Jesus said, if one sows sparingly, he shall also reap sparingly. It is a general principle that can be applied to all areas of life. And it certainly can also be applied to giving to the work of the Lord.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
