Exodus 34:6-7 (NKJV) 6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

When God extends mercy, He does not shut His eyes to the sinner and say, “I did not see that.” No, that is not how God extends mercy. The penalty for sin is death. And the penalty must be paid, because God is a righteous. Therefore, by no means does God simply clears the guilty by forgetting about his or her sin. What God did was provide a Salvation for us, and His name is Jesus Christ, God the Son. Jesus is our substitutional sacrifice. Jesus took our place, and He paid the penalty for our sins. Jesus is the Prefect Lamb of God whom God the Father provided as the “Perfect Sacrifice”. Jesus put away sin by His death on the Cross on Calvary. However, un-repented sin cannot be forgiven. Meaning, you have to give up your sin, you cannot live in it and expect to be forgiven. This un-repented sin can affect your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren, and your great-great-grand-children. You cannot break the laws of God with impunity. Sin is sin, there is no gray area. And it behooves you to repent of it for your sake and for the sake of your descendants down to the fourth generation. If you are ready to repent of your sins, then God is ready to forgive your sins. My friend, God keeps “mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.” If you turn to Christ, you will find mercy.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
