Acts 15:11 (NKJV) But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”
The apostles and elders came together to express their opinion on forcing new converts to keep the Mosaic Law. And Peter was the first to speak. Peter said that he personally shared the gospel of Christ to the Gentiles and they believed. Yes, he said, they were saved by grace. And Peter continued on to say, salvation is not decided by what you eat. Salvation is not dependent on whether or not you keep the Sabbath, or Sunday, or any other day. Peter made it clear that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. My friend, the Mosaic Law cannot save you. Religious ceremonies cannot save you. Church membership cannot save you. By the shed blood of Jesus Christ is how God saves you. And the moment that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and baptize you into the body of Christ. And remember, my friend, repentance comes along with believing. This is the only way of salvation. It is by faith in Christ. All God is asking you to do is to accept His Son Jesus Christ who died for you. For as Peter emphasized, neither they nor their fathers kept the Law. The Law was never meant to save people. Why is that? It is because none of us can keep it. It is given to us so that we would recognize our sins, repent of them, and turn to Jesus for salvation. God saves us on the basis of faith in the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. My friend, if you think that you are living life on a high spiritual plane, that you are living by the Mosaic Law, then you are simply fooling yourself and you are being a hypocrite. Because none of us can keep the Law. We are saved by faith in Christ alone. My friend, why don’t you come to God with a repented heart and trust Christ as your Savior? Jesus will receive you; He will not cast you out. Everyone who has come to Christ has come to Him in this manner. My friend, everyone is saved because he or she trusted Christ. We are saved by the grace of God.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
