James 3:3 (NKJV) Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.

James compares the tongue to a bridle. David said, I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me” (Psalm 39:1 NKJV). In other words, David says, “I put a zipper on my mouth.” David wants to give the right kind of testimony. So, he wants to control his tongue, because the words he says can be either for good or for evil. My friends, there are a lot of believers today who ought to control their tongues. We should be conscious of what we say, and not let our tongue just simply run away saying all kinds of nonsense and foolish things. So then, our tongues can direct our lives. Therefore, be careful of what you say.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
