Psalm 91:11-12 (NKJV) 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

This is the Scripture that the devil quoted while trying to temp our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is interesting that Satan knew this psalm applied to Jesus. The devil knew this, but a lot of theology professors don’t know this today. Satan said to Jesus, “For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you. To keep you/” (Luke 4:10 NKJV). Why did the devil say this? We see the reason why in verse 9, “Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here.”” Satan, was tempting Jesus, that is why. Know this my friends, Satan can quote Scripture for his own purposes. That is, the devil can take Scripture out of context, or twist it around, or tweak it to mislead you. Satan does this through false profits, false preachers, and false teachers. There are a lot cults out there that are being used by the devil. See that Satan misquoted the Scripture, he left out the words, “in all your ways.” The Lord Jesus Christ came to do the Father’s will, He came to fulfill the Father’s plan of salvation. And that meant to walk in the Father’s ways. Jesus would have stepped out of the will of the Father if He turned the stones into bread, of if He had accepted the kingdoms of the world from Satan, or if He had jumped of the pinnacle of the Temple. If Jesus would have done any of these things, He would have been out of the way of God the Father. The promise is: “For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.” Now the next two verses are very important. These verses say, “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him” (Psalm 91:14-15 NKJV). You see my friends; the perfect Man went into the jaws of death. Jesus went down into the lowest parts of the earth, meaning death and the grave. And deliverance came on the third day, God the Father raised His Son Jesus Christ from the dead and gave Him glory. God said, “I will set Him on high.” Psalm 91 gives us a wonderful picture of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is good that you know this my friends.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
