Isaiah 1:15-17 (NKJV) 15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. 16 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, 17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.

Now, if you will, God is calling people out here. To put it bluntly, God is saying in not so many words, “You are a bunch of phonies. You call yourselves genuine Christians. You simply go through the motions, but the praises that you sing and the truth that you hear mean absolutely nothing to you. You are a bunch of hypocrites.” Jesus said of people like these, “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me” (Matthew 15:8 NKJV). This is God’s charge against those who call Him Lord, but their lives do not match their confession. They are sill enjoying living in sin. My friends, repentance means to agree with God that sin is sin. If you say that you have repented of your sins but still carry on in sin, then you are guilty of apostasy. In Isaiah 1:15-17, God has laid out His charge against Israel. And now He can move in to judge them. My friends, God has laid out His charge against the world. And now He can move in to judge the world. The Lord Jesus Christ can come at any moment to do just that. But before He comes, God is still offering His grace to all who will accept His Son Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God gave Israel a chance to repent. God said, “Come now, and let us reason together,” … “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18 NKJV). My friends, God is willing to forgive your sins, but you have to be willing to give up your sins. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 NKJV). My friends, God is reconciled, because Jesus Christ His Son paid the penalty for the sins of the world. But you have to come to God by accepting His Son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. For Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
