Isaiah 40:11 (NKJV) He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ took the title of Shepherd when He came the first time. Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:11 NKJV). And Jesus also said, “As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep” (John 10:15 NKJV). And John the Baptist said this of Jesus, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 NKJV). The fact that Jesus stepped down from heaven and became a Lamb emphasizes His humanity. The fact that Jesus stepped down from heaven and became our Good Shepherd emphasizes the deity of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ stepped down from heaven and clothed His deity in humanity. Jesus was fully God and fully man. And Jesus alone was worthy and able to save us. No one else could do this; therefore, Jesus had to be God, God the Son, the second person of the Triune Godhead, Elohim. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who gives His life for the sheep, and He protects His own. And Jesus is coming again in power and glory. And since we know that Jesus is coming again, we should be productive while we wait for His return. Because all who serves God are answerable to Christ who will Himself reward our service with rewards which are eternal. For “…when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away” (1 Peter 5:4 NKJV). Some day our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is going to appear, and I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will find you praising His name no matter what comes your way in life. For, my friends, “The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV). My friends, know this, God is going to get you through your journey of life; God has set your path. And He is going to bring you to Himself one day when Christ returns. God will then rest in His love, and He will joy over you with singing. This is a wonderful and glorious promise that we have because the Lord Jesus Christ is our Good Shepherd.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
