Ephesians 1:19-23 (NKJV) 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

My friends, we need to have a deep appreciation of the power which God engages to bring all things that He has planned for our lives to fruition according to His work of redemption, preservation, justification, and glorification. This is the same power in which God used to raise Jesus from the dead. It is the same power in which God brought Jesus back to heaven and seated Him at His right hand. The Lord Jesus Christ’s resurrection and ascension required the greatest out-flow of divine power. The resurrection power and the ascension power are glorious examples of God’s victorious power. And it is the same power that lives in us today. The Apostle Paul concludes his appreciation for the Ephesian saints with a tremendously high note. Paul says that the church is the body of Christ, and Christ is the Head of the church. Meaning, my friends, when the Lord Jesus Christ wants to exercise whatever gift, He has given you, you do it because He is the Head of the body, His church, and we are under Him. If you don’t then you are not attached to Him. Meaning, you are not part of the body of Christ; you are a detached Christian. This is important for us to understand, we are the body and Christ is the Head. If we do not respond to the will of the Lord Jesus Christ, then we are not connected to Him. Sadly, many Christians act as if they are detached from Christ. And likewise, it is sad to see churches bend to the will of detached Christians, rather than do the will of the Lord. The thing that we need to know and understand is that Christ is the Head of the body, His church, and we are under Him. That is what is important.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
