Hebrews 6:9-12 (NKJV) 9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The writer here is addressing true believers. He is saying, “I am persuaded that you are living for God, that you will grow towards spiritual maturity.” Works and labor of love will accompany salvation. Now, don’t get confused. Works and labor of love will not save you, but these are the reasons why you are rewarded at the Bema Seat of Christ. Again, although works and labor of love have noting to do with your salvation, these things are certainly manifested in a believer’s life. These are the hallmark of a true believer. And they are evident in a believer’s love to serve his or her brothers and sisters in Christ for His sake. My friends, we need to continue to grow spiritually, and we need to build one another up continuously. We need to do these things “to the full assurance of hope until the end.” We should not become sluggish, dragging our feet and impeding our spiritual growth. We need to steadfastly carry on in Christ, imitating “those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
