Colossians 1:12-14 (NKJV) 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

What are some things that we should be thankful for? Here in these verses are some of the things for which the Apostle Paul is thankful for. Paul is thankful that God by His grace has qualified us by the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ to be partakers of the inheritance with the saints in the light. My friends, we should lay hold of the promise of John 3:16. We should believe that God’s promises are true. Paul is also thankful that God has “delivered us from the power of darkness.” My friends, we were dead in our sins, following the darkness of the world. But now we have been freed from sin by the substitutional sacrificial death of His Son Jesus Christ, and we have been translated into the kingdom of His beloved Son. My friends, the only way you can be a part of the kingdom of God is by opening your heart and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. Faith in Christ is what conveys you “into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” For we have forgiveness of sins in Christ. My friends, we have redemption through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. There is redemption power in the blood of Christ. Our sins are forgiven because of what Christ did for us on the Cross on Calvary. Jesus paid a price to delivery us out of the bondage of sin. My friends, God has redeemed us through Christ and has forgiven our sins through His blood. These are the things that we ought to thank God for.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
