1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Notice that the Apostle Paul says that the love of money is a root of all evil. Money in itself is amoral; it lacks a moral sense. Meaning, money can be used for good or it can be used for evil. For instance, money can be used for serving God in a variety of ways in which only good would result. And money can be used for serving man in a variety of ways in which only evil would result. This is why the love of money can lead to envy, strife, theft, dishonesty, intemperance, forgetfulness of God, selfishness, embezzlement, and so on and so on. Paul stresses the point that the love of money can cause believers to fall from the Christian faith. In their greediness, they neglect spiritual things, and they act just the same as wicked people who are not saved. And not only do they stray from God, but they also pierced themselves through with many sorrows. And the greatest of these sorrows is a life lived without God. For it is said that there is a God shape void in everyone’s heart. It can’t be filled with the things that money can buy. Only God can fill it. Money can’t buy you happiness. True happiness can only be found in the love of God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
